WASHINGTON – In 2010, veterans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces after 2001 received an update to their education benefits. The update was signed into law under the Post 9/11 Veterans Education Assistance Improvements Act of 2010, also referred to as the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-02) has introduced a bill that will give more veterans access to mental health care. An oversight in current law allows only mental health providers who have received a master’s degree in mental health counseling to serve in the U.S. Department of Affairs (VA) as licensed professional mental health counselors.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-02) on Thursday voted to get rid of an Obama-backed regulation that could make it harder for Oklahoma families to access retirement and investment advice. Mullin is a cosponsor of H.J.Res. 88, a resolution of disapproval that would block the Department of Labor’s (DOL) expensive and overly burdensome regulation on local investment advisors.

On Wednesday, Mullin’s committee, the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, held a meeting to consider several bills focused on opioid abuse.
