Within the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s presidency, we’ve seen him draw the line in the sand. After President Bashar al-Assad delivered one of worst chemical bombing in Syria in history, President Trump made it clear that the United States would not tolerate a war crime like this. When Assad crossed the line by unleashing a chemical attack that took the lives of dozens of his own people, the country’s new commander in chief made good on a promise. For the first time in eight years, our count... Read more

The Hill The Obama administration left behind a regulatory environment costing our taxpayers a staggering $1.89 trillion each year and costing businesses forced to comply with these regulations over 580 million hours of paperwork per year. What’s worse is that regulations thought to improve safety and efficiency have in fact done the opposite. Just days before President Trump took office, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rushed through midnight revisions to its risk management plan (RMP... Read more

On December 7, we will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. An attack that lasted just 110 minutes left 2,335 U.S. service members dead and another 1,143 wounded. The next day in an address to a Joint Session of Congress, President Franklin Roosevelt called December 7, 1941: “A date which will live in infamy.” I believe those words still hold true today. After that surprise attack, the United States entered the Second World War, sending 16.1 million Americans ... Read more

The United States government works on a different calendar than most of the country. We work off of a fiscal year (FY) that starts on October 1st and runs until September 30th. During the current FY, we work to appropriate the funds for the next year. If Congress is unable to pass a budget before the end of the FY, then the federal government shuts down like we saw in 2014. This year, the House worked together to get all 12 of our appropriations bills out of committee and ready for votes on the ... Read more

In the last two years, ISIS has been tied to almost 100 terror plots against the West, and out of those, America was the number one target. Terrorism is the biggest threat to our national security today, and I believe that it is up to us to stop it. Just last month, a terrorist who pledged allegiance to ISIS carried out the largest attack on American soil since 9/11. This attack had nothing to do with the gun laws of Orlando, Fl. It had everything to do with the radical Islamic ideals of the per... Read more

The bill will fund the U.S. military through September 2017. “This legislation ensures that we maintain our military readiness,” said Mullin. “It gives us the ability to keep the men and women on the front lines equipped and it puts a little extra money in their pocket that I think they more than deserve.” This year’s bill includes a 2.1% pay increase for troop... Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-02) on Tuesday voted to combat future terrorist recruitment efforts by requiring the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to use the testimonials of former terrorists and extremists to stop terrorist groups from recruiting Americans.
