It was recently discovered that a suicide hotline operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) sent crisis calls from some veterans to voicemail. This is unacceptable and shameful. Our veterans, our nation’s heroes, deserve better. After the discovery was made, the VA assured Congress it was taking steps to fix the problem.
