Mullin: “In America we’re able to debate, but what we shouldn’t do is hate.”
During an interview with Newsmax, Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-02) called out the hypocrisy of the Left during the Communications and Technology Subcommittee hearing to address media censorship and political extremism. Mullin spoke about the spread of disinformation in left-wing media as well as the hypocrisy and danger that exists when Democrats attempt to violate the First Amendment and silence opposing media views.
Mullin’s full interview with Newsmax can be found here.
“Just last week, you had Joy Reid on MSNBC on Reidout restart this whole narrative again, the Russia collusion and that President Trump was illegitimate,” Mullin said. “And now they’re thinking that’s okay when it was proven 100% false? Who’s going to regulate that? Who’s going to say what is right and what is wrong? In America we’re able to debate, but what we shouldn’t do is hate. We can debate and agree to disagree, but the hatred and wanting to silence somebody, that’s not what we do in this country.”
Ahead of the hearing, House Democrats sent a letter to the CEOs of AT&T, Verizon, Apple and other TV providers pressuring them to remove or censure right-wing media outlets like Fox News and Newsmax.Mullin pressed one of the witnesses on the danger of who decides what content get censored.
