President Biden’s Year One Performance Review
Washington, January 19, 2022
President Biden has been in office for one year and it has been a year of crisis. As we recognize the anniversary of the beginning of Washington’s one-party rule, let’s grade President Biden’s work on the issues important to the American people.
Economy – F: Americans are now making less while paying more for just about everything. Inflation is taxation, and it has gone up every month of Biden’s presidency, reaching a record 40-year high. Month after month, each jobs report seems worse than the last as Americans are rewarded to stay home and rely on the federal government for their every need.
Energy – F: President Biden spent his first day in office enacting his anti-American energy agenda that set the tone for the rest of the year. He canceled the Keystone XL pipeline and rejoined the Paris Climate Agreement, shipping our jobs overseas and making our country vulnerable to our foreign adversaries. Later, he pushed Green New Deal policy while tapping into emergency oil reserves in response to gas prices reaching a seven-year high. The oil and natural gas industry is a top driver for our Oklahoma economy, supplying over 400,000 jobs. His anti-fossil fuel agenda, including methane emission regulation, stifles innovation and hurts the livelihood of many in our state.
National Security – F: President Biden has made the United States look weak on the world stage. Most recently, he has bowed to Russia and failed to take a tough stance against China. He repeatedly fails to put our country first and chooses the interests of our adversaries instead of our own. Lastly, we will never forget the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. It was a complete and utter failure. Thirteen service members and countless civilians lost their lives, and many remain stranded there under Taliban control. Americans deserve better from our Commander-in-Chief.
Border Security – F: President Biden has neglected our Southern border. I’ve seen it firsthand. After reversing President Trump’s policies, over 1.7 million illegal immigrants have been apprehended along with 11,000 pounds of fentanyl in 2021 alone. This has exacerbated the opioid epidemic, and these numbers place an enormous strain on the border patrol agents there. It is imperative that President Biden secure our border and finish the wall.
Don’t just take my word for it though. According to a new Quinnipiac University poll, President Biden’s approval rating has dipped to 33 percent. It’s time this administration cleans up the crises they have caused and look towards the next three years with Americans’ best interests in mind.
