Honoring our Officers during National Police Week
Washington,
May 11, 2022
As National Police Week is here, we recognize the brave men and women of our law enforcement and pay special tribute to officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. I am immensely grateful for our local, state, and federal law enforcement, and want to remind them that we proudly Back the Blue, despite constant calls from the left to defund the police. Every day, our men and women of law enforcement put on the badge and bravely place themselves in harm’s way to protect our communities. They sacrifice time away from their families to serve the public and are always among the first to respond in a crisis. To the over 8,000 police officers in Oklahoma, thank you. We know that a single week is not enough time to recognize the extent of your service and sacrifice, but please know that you have our support and gratitude. I also want to recognize the deputies and civilian support staff who work 24 hours a day to protect our communities. It’s also incredibly important we take a moment to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the safety and protection of others. These fallen heroes will never be forgotten, and we must always support their families as well as their brothers and sisters in law enforcement. We continue to pray for healing and peace for the loved ones of those who have lost their lives in service to our country America is a nation of laws. To dutifully uphold these laws, our law enforcement officials willingly pledge their lives to maintaining peace in communities and working with the judicial branch to restore justice under law. We know that the intense pressure and scrutiny from those who wish to undo the rule of law in this country has not made this easy. This week, I encourage everyone to thank law enforcement members in their community who sacrifice so much in their line of duty to protect our laws, and more importantly, our families, our friends, and our neighbors. |
