Mullin Recognizes Law Enforcement Officials During Police Week
Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-2) released the following statement in recognition of Police Week, observed May 14 through May 20, 2017.
“Our law enforcement officials are the thin blue line between chaos and civility in our country,” Mullin said. “We are a nation of laws, and without law enforcement officials to enforce those laws, we are a lawless nation.”
“I’m grateful every day for our law enforcement officials who put their lives in harm’s way in order to keep others safe. This week, I encourage everyone to thank the law enforcement members in their community who sacrifice so much in their line of duty to protect our laws, and more importantly, our families, our friends, and our neighbors.”
This week, the House will consider several pieces of legislation to honor the sacrifice of the men and women who serve and provide the tools they need in order to keep our citizens safe including the Probation Officer Protection Act of 2017 (H.R. 1309), the Thin Blue Line Act (H.R. 115), the Honoring Hometown Heroes Act (H.R. 1892), and the American Law Enforcement Heroes Act of 2017 (H.R. 1428). Congressman Mullin is a cosponsor of the Thin Blue Line Act.
