Mullin Statement on Proposed Rule to Provide Relief from Obamacare Premium Increases
Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-2) released the following statement in regards to the Department of Health and Human Services’ proposed rule to promote competition in the health care insurance market and expand access to short-term insurance for individuals seeking more affordable options:
“Today’s proposed rule by the Trump Administration harps on what we already know to be true: Obamacare failed to provide affordable, accessible health care for Oklahomans,” said Mullin. “Oklahomans need permanent relief from their skyrocketing health care premiums and massive deductibles. By extending these short-term insurance plans, Oklahomans would have greater freedom to choose a plan that works best for their family. I applaud the Trump Administration for their continued efforts to bring free market solutions to our health care system.”The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will accept comments on the proposed rule for 60 days. The proposed rule is available here: https://www.federalregister.gov/public-inspection.
