Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-02) today issued the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives advanced the North American Energy Security and Infrastructure Act of 2015 (H.R. 8) by a vote of 249-174:
“It is time for the United States to move beyond the policies that were developed in an era of scarcity. If we are to maintain our global standing we must champion policies that reflect the energy abundance of today and support the infrastructure and security needs of tomorrow.
“The North American Energy Security and Infrastructure Act prioritizes our country’s energy potential. The bill modernizes our infrastructure to keep pace with new resources and innovations, protects our electric grid by addressing the threats of physical and cyber-attacks, and strengthens our security and position as a global leader.
“I applaud Chairman Upton’s leadership and commitment to the critically important energy issues in this bill.”
